One final huge surprise awaited us with the implementation of a web-based ministry. The information that our Connection Partners were collecting from their visitor calls were being automatically stored into a database that we could query in various ways. It soon became apparent, that a byproduct of Connection Ministries was that we could generate reports that displayed information that was previously unavailable to any pastor. Suddenly, I could see, in graph form, the leading indicators of my church's growth. At a glance I could see our visitor volume rates, our visitor retention rates and our back door rates over the past year. Emerging trends leapt off the page.
